Glossary

Base Rail The horizontal rail that serves as the foundation for our legs, comparable to the "feet" of our legs.
Bow The curved truss made of tubular steel that forms the structure for our 12'-24' wide buildings, reinforced by a peak brace for added strength.
Drop Panel A panel that hangs down the side of our carport, serving either as a decorative element or as a barrier against rainwater in the space between a lean-to and the central structure.
End Wall A wall that encloses the two sides of our carport that do not bear weight, commonly referred to as the "ends."
Gable End An ornamental addition that enhances the style and provides extra lateral stability to a carport.
Hat Channel Components used to secure our roof panels in vertical-style carports, resembling the shape of a top hat when viewed from the side.
Header Bar The bars positioned above our garage doors or larger openings that distribute the weight of the roof to both sides of the opening, allowing us to enter through the space where a "leg" would typically be placed.
J-Trim A decorative trim piece shaped like a "J" when viewed from the side, serving both as an aesthetic feature and as a cover for any sharp edges on the drop panel.
L-Trim A trim piece that outlines and safeguards the sharp edges around the openings of our doors and windows, resembling the letter "L" when viewed from the side.
Lean-To Extensions that can increase the width of a structure by up to 15', connecting to a central carport that provides the other set of legs on the outside.
Leg The vertical poles that support the weight of the carport's roof.
Leg Brace A brace that connects from the legs to the truss/bow of the carport, reinforcing the structure and providing additional support for the roof.
Peak Brace A brace that adds strength and structure to our 12'-24' wide units.
Side Wall The wall that encloses the two sides of the carport that bear weight, commonly known as the "sides."
Wainscot A decorative element that changes the color of the bottom 3' height of the enclosed sides in our design.
45-Degree Trim Kit A decorative feature that gives the top openings a "softer" corner with four forty-five-degree angles instead of two ninety-degree angles, also called a "Dutch opening."
