FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need a permit for my metal building?

Some areas might need you to have a building permit. It’s a good idea to check with your local city or county to see what’s needed for your area. Before we install your structure, we’ll need all the proper documents from you.

  • What warranties do you offer on your metal buildings?

We provide a 90-day workmanship warranty on all structures. For commercial buildings that are 32 feet wide or more, there is a 1-year workmanship warranty available. These warranties are limited, so feel free to ask for more details.

  • Do I need a lift for the installation of my steel structure?

If your structure is over 12 feet tall or 32 feet wide, or if you’re planning to install roll-up doors that are 12×12 feet or larger, you will need to provide a lift at the site. It’s best to discuss the specifics with your representative to determine if this requirement applies to your project.

  • What size concrete pad should I pour for my metal building?

For the best fit, we recommend pouring a concrete pad that matches the base of your structure. For example, a 30×40 structure would need a 30×40 pad. Engineer drawings can provide detailed footer requirements for your specific area, or you can contact our representative for advice on footers or slabs.

  • Can I install my metal structure on soil?

Yes, installation on soil, gravel, concrete, asphalt, or wood is possible if your foundation is level. However, we recommend checking with one of our representatives for any specific foundation requirements, especially if you are not planning to obtain a permit.

  • Inclusive Structural Design Blueprints

You can receive a complimentary PDF version of the standard structural design blueprints upon request after your down payment. These are accessible and can be used as needed for your project.

  • Wet Seal Drawings for Any Project

For $500, we’ll send you two copies of generic wet seal drawings by mail. If your local building department requires the state seal on every page, we can accommodate that request. Please allow 1–2 weeks for us to complete your drawings.

  • Letter from a Professional Engineer (PE)

Obtain a letter from a professional engineer for $400.00. This letter, delivered through postal mail, addresses any specific concerns raised by your building inspector and can be expected within 2–3 weeks.

  • Site-Specific Drawings

Site-specific drawings are tailored to include your name, address, local wind and snow loads, and exact building dimensions with door and window placements. The cost is $1,750 for structures up to 24′ wide and $2,500 for widths between 25′ and 30′. For larger widths, starting at 31′, a custom quote will be provided. The delivery of these drawings, which are mailed in two copies, generally takes 3–4 weeks, depending on the complexity.

  • Placement Sheet Requirement

It is mandatory for the dealer to submit a Placement Sheet before installation. This ensures all preparations are properly aligned with specific site and structure requirements.
